It’s with great pride that we share the news of Joe Naylor, our Founder and CEO, being chosen to serve on the U.S. Copyright Office’s Copyright Public Modernization Committee (CPMC). Joe’s appointment reflects his deep expertise in copyright protection and his commitment to the photography and creative community.

The CPMC was established to enhance communication between the U.S. Copyright Office and stakeholders, focusing on the development of the Enterprise Copyright System.

As a leader in digital media licensing, Joe will contribute to modernizing copyright systems and ensuring creators’ interests are represented—an exciting opportunity for ImageRights to further its mission of protecting intellectual property for photographers, artists, and creators.

Joe’s role on the CPMC ensures that the interests of photographers and creators remain at the forefront of these critical advancements in copyright protection.

Why This Milestone Matters for the Future of Copyright Protection

Joe’s involvement in this committee enables him to play an influential role in shaping the future of U.S. Copyright Office modernization on behalf of ImageRights' photographer and artist clients, as well as visual artists of every kind. The committee’s focus on the development of the new Enterprise Copyright System will enhance essential copyright processes, such as registration, recordation, and public records—critical tools for protecting and enforcing your intellectual property.

Moreover, through this role, Joe will help shape the future of copyright policy, particularly in areas like AI, content authenticity, and digital rights management.

The first meeting of the new term is scheduled for October 10, 2024, and will provide updates on these advancements. The meeting is open to the public, and we encourage you to attend if you are interested in the future of copyright technology.
